A mobile app for your business: what it is for

A business does not need a mobile app just to be in the app stores. It needs a concrete result. Customers come back more often when ordering, booking or paying takes a couple of taps. Employees work faster when requests, documents and tasks are in their pocket. Push notifications bring users back without an advertising budget, and in-app analytics show what people actually need.
We build custom mobile apps for two kinds of tasks:
- customer apps: ordering and delivery, booking, personal accounts, loyalty programmes, catalogues and payments;
- apps for employees and partners: corporate portals, requests and approvals, equipment tracking and field work, HR processes.

An example of the second kind is IntraLink, a corporate portal: its mobile version gives employees a personal account, IT support requests and HR features, including job offers and notifications about new colleagues.
Why we build with Flutter

Our main mobile tool is Flutter with the Dart language. This is cross-platform development: one codebase runs on both iOS and Android, and the interface is drawn by the framework itself, so it looks the same on both platforms.
What it means for the business:
- lower cost: one team and one codebase instead of two native projects;
- faster time to market: each feature is written and tested once;
- consistent behaviour: iOS and Android users get the same version of the product on the same day;
- simpler maintenance: a bug fix reaches both platforms at once.

Cross-platform does not mean giving up device features. Camera, location, biometrics, push notifications, offline work and in-app payments are available through mature libraries or native modules. When a task needs deep system integration, we plug native platform code into the shared app.
What custom mobile app development includes
We run the whole project, from the idea to publishing and growth after launch. The scope depends on the task, but usually looks like this.
Analysis and prototype

We study the product goal, its users and the processes the app has to support. We write down the business requirements, describe roles and scenarios and build a prototype of the key screens. At this stage it becomes clear what goes into the first version and what can wait.
Interface design

We design the interface following Apple and Google guidelines, so it feels familiar on both platforms. We prepare mockups for every screen and state: loading, errors, empty lists. The approved design becomes the basis for development and estimates.
App and back-end development

We write the mobile app in Flutter and, if needed, the back end in Python and FastAPI with a PostgreSQL database. We connect Firebase for push notifications and analytics and integrate payments, CRM, accounting systems and other services via API. For content and order management we build a web admin panel.
Testing

We test the app on real devices of different sizes and system versions: features, interface, behaviour on a poor connection and load on the server. Bugs are fixed before publishing, not after user complaints.
Publishing in the App Store and Google Play

We prepare the store listing, screenshots and everything the stores require, and go through Apple and Google review. Store rules keep changing, and experience with them saves weeks of resubmissions.
Support and growth

After launch we look after the app: monitor stability, release updates for new iOS and Android versions and grow features based on analytics. Our work comes with a 6-month warranty.
How we work: stages and timeline

The process is built so that you see the product within weeks, not months:
- Consultation (1–3 days): we discuss goals and tasks and clarify key requirements.
- Business requirements and design mockups (3–5 days): requirements and interface are agreed.
- Technical specification (3–5 days): features, architecture and integrations are described.
- Three development iterations (10–14 days each): after each one we demo the result and collect feedback.
- Testing and refinement (7–10 days): functional, unit and load testing.
- Launch (3–5 days): publishing and support during the start.
Every two weeks you get a report and a demo of the finished part. This makes it easy to change priorities in time: if the first users behave differently than expected, the plan is adjusted right away, not after launch.
How much does mobile app development cost

The cost depends on the scope of work, so we name an exact price after reviewing the task; the table above gives typical ranges. The total depends most on:
- the number of screens and user roles: customer, courier, manager and administrator are essentially several apps in one;
- the back end: your existing API or our own back end with an admin panel;
- integrations: payments, CRM, accounting systems, maps, external services;
- offline mode and data synchronisation;
- security and load requirements.

An MVP helps to keep the first budget down: it includes only the features without which the product cannot do its main job. The rest is added in the next iterations, when there is data from real users. We use AI tools for routine code and tests, so timelines and costs are lower than with fully manual work.
How to prepare for app development

You do not need a ready technical specification to start: we write it together with you at the third stage. Still, the first meeting is more useful if you think about a few questions in advance:
- goal and success measure: what should change for the business after launch, such as more repeat orders, fewer support calls or faster request handling;
- users: who will use the app, in what situations and on which devices;
- existing systems: website, CRM, accounting, warehouse or payment service the app has to exchange data with;
- constraints: the desired launch date, the budget for the first version, security requirements;
- examples: apps you or your customers like, and what is inconvenient in them.
If you do not have the answers yet, that is fine. In a free consultation we will help to put them into words and suggest a sensible place to start.
Technologies
- Mobile app: Flutter, Dart, native platform modules when needed.
- Back end: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, REST API and GraphQL.
- Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, deployment on your servers or in the cloud.
- Services: Firebase for push notifications and analytics, integrations with payment and accounting systems.
Why HiRaise

- MVP in 3 months: you can show the first working version to users and investors within a quarter.
- Transparency: a report and a demo every two weeks.
- 6-month warranty on our work.
- One team for the whole product: the mobile app, back end, admin panel and integrations are built by people who know the project end to end.
- Free start: we study the task and propose a solution and an estimate before the contract is signed.
Tell us about your task in the form below, and we will suggest an approach, the scope of the first version and an estimate of time and cost.
